CAR SHARING: Please indicate if you intend to drive to this social gathering by car, and would be prepared to offer a lift to a person who cannot drive but would like to attend this social gathering (state how many people you could offer a lift to and where you live).

PLEASE NOTE: should you book to attend this event and subsequently cancel after the cut-off date (9th January), YOU are liable for the full payment price of the event, which is to be paid at the associations next membership clinic. We will not accept bookings from those who persistently cancel.

A minimum donation of 50TL to help those local ‘Good Causes’ the association supports is included in the price.

This week on The Main Event we are with Hatice Salih Kerimgil.

We talk about her life , her previous work as a school teacher here in the TRNC, and the support and help she gives towards many charities and associations , including The Anglo Turkish Association.

This Saturday the 21st December, is the start of Martyrs National Struggle Week and the 25th December is the 63rd anniversary of the foundation of BRTK.

We talk about the significance of these events and their importance to the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people .

This Saturday at 5pm and repeated on Sunday at 11 am … only on Bayrak International Radio 105 and 87.8 FM

Don’t miss it Xxx

It’s done! The room has been cleared, refurbished, ceiling strengthened for hand ladders and soft toys to swing on, kitted out with all the relevant furnishings to make troubled children calm. Last item to hang curtains will be completed in the next few days.

The items all came from Türkiye and inevitably there were issues with transport, customs duty, tax and anything else that could be a problem but thanks in particular to our chairman, Levent Ozerdaǧ and his contacts who minimised the impact of these potential hindrances.

The teachers are really pleased with the outcome, and a plaque will be hung outside the room stating it has been completed due to donations from the ATA.

Pictures show the room and three of the resident teachers along with Levent Ozerdaǧ and Tim Morgan.

We will look at another project with this school during 2025.

ATA News Update – December 2024

1. Games Day, this coming month has changed and is now Wednesday 11thDecember.

Mexican Train Game, and Turkish Okey will both be available.

Both are great fun! Come along and join us. 

We will be renewing memberships and taking on new members etc as usual.
