The latest visit included a donation of books along with a survey of some painting in two corridors that were water damaged and now need filling, making good and painting.

Do we have any members that have paintbrushes,  filler and a few hours to spare to help clean up the areas for the children?

If you do, please let us know via angloturkishassociation@gmail.com and we will co-ordinate.

The ATA donated bedding for members of the basketball team who need this when touring.

Separately, some of the washrooms urgently need repairing as they have been out of action for some time in a number of cases as seen by the rubbish stored in one of the redundant showers! We have undertaken to resolve this for the association.

The social gathering on the 28th January has been organised by Norm and Mandy Norton and will be held at Charlies Sports Baa in Küçükerenköy

Date : Tuesday 28th January

Venue : Charlies Sports Baa, Küçükerenköy

Time: arrival 1.30 pm for a 2.00 pm start

Starter: 

Vegetable Soup

Mains:

Home made Pie and Chips – Pies are a choice of:

       Chicken and Mushroom
or    Steak
or    Meat and Potato

All with Chips, Peas and Gravy

Vegetarian Option:

       Cheese and Onion Quiche with salad and chips

Dessert:

   Fruit Crumble.

Cost for three courses:

         700 TL for members

         750 TL for non members

Cost for two courses:

         550 TL and 600 TL as above

As payment for this social gathering is to be paid on the day, please have the correct money with you for this social gathering as change will not be available.

Directions.

From Tatlısu, turn right into Küçükerenköy. Take the first right (about 75 metres) just before Olive Woods. Follow the narrow road with a sharp left after 200 metres. Take the next right. Charlies Sports Baa is at the end on the right.
From Girne, pass Esentepe and Bahçeli. Continue past the Spice Garden, and The Greenhouse, and turn left into Küçükerenköy, then after about 75 metres turn right following Tatlısu instructions above.

This week on The Main Event we are with Hatice Salih Kerimgil.

We talk about her life , her previous work as a school teacher here in the TRNC, and the support and help she gives towards many charities and associations , including The Anglo Turkish Association.

This Saturday the 21st December, is the start of Martyrs National Struggle Week and the 25th December is the 63rd anniversary of the foundation of BRTK.

We talk about the significance of these events and their importance to the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people .

This Saturday at 5pm and repeated on Sunday at 11 am … only on Bayrak International Radio 105 and 87.8 FM

Don’t miss it Xxx

It’s done! The room has been cleared, refurbished, ceiling strengthened for hand ladders and soft toys to swing on, kitted out with all the relevant furnishings to make troubled children calm. Last item to hang curtains will be completed in the next few days.

The items all came from Türkiye and inevitably there were issues with transport, customs duty, tax and anything else that could be a problem but thanks in particular to our chairman, Levent Ozerdaǧ and his contacts who minimised the impact of these potential hindrances.

The teachers are really pleased with the outcome, and a plaque will be hung outside the room stating it has been completed due to donations from the ATA.
