We have some very good upcoming events and each will be promoted in full shortly. In summary save these dates!

20^th November – Spa Day!

An event for everyone, ladies and gentlemen and couples also welcome.

What could be better than a relaxing spa day to rejuvenate.

Come and enjoy a relaxing spa day at the Ocean Spa Wellness, Acapulco.

The day will include full use of the spa (sauna, steam room, hammam, pool) and a choice of one treatment:

Choose from:

Peeling and foam massage

Relax massage

Reflexology

Warm stone massage

Open Buffet Lunch, Desserts and Hot Drinks included in cost.

Additional treatments available at extra cost

Date: Thursday, 20^thNovember 2025

Venue: Ocean Spa and Wellness, Acapulco Resort.

Time: arrival 10.00am

Event Prices per person are: Members 2,000TL. Non-Members 2,200TL. (A good discount on normal prices!)

29^th November – Classical concert by Katerina and Lena Stern at St Andrews Church, Girne (evening event)

December Christmas Event

Come and join us for the ATA Christmas Dinner and Singalong.

This year it is an evening event with Canapes, Full roast dinner with trimmings (vegetarian options available!), a range of festive puddings followed by coffee and brandy.

Also Gavin will be entertaining us with both Festive and well known songs.

Price: £35 members (to be paid in advance at either clinics or by arrangement)

An informative and educational visit has been arranged to Almond Holiday Village on 17th October 2025.

During the visit members will learn about bee-keeping and watch honey being harvested after which there will be a visit to the gardens to view the fruit and vegetables grown in their gardens.

Walking Tour of historical Lefke Old Town and

Soli Ruins.

Date: Wednesday 21st May

We are pleased to offer you and your friends a walking tour of Lefke Old Town & Soli Ruins conducted by Serhan Guneyli an official tour guide.

The Tour will include:

Return coach – From your preferred pick up point.

Argonya – Coffee Stop (optional)

The old town of Lefke. A walk through the orange plantations, Ottoman palaces, remains of the colonial period & of course the copper mines. This is an easy walk.

Soli Ruins – Home to the famous Swan Mosaic. This ancient settlement is one of the 10 kingdoms of Cyprus & dates back to the 6th century BC.

Lunch – We thought 🤔 Bring your own picnic.

Perfect weather for a picnic with friends. champagne or lemonade your choice.

(Coach will stay with us cold boxes can be left on board)

Feedback on AN EVENT EXCLUSIVELY ORGANIZED FOR ATA MEMBERS AND FRIENDS.

Once only a local ‘cheese’, now a worldwide culinary phenomenon: HELLİM.

Let’s experience the process of Hellim making firsthand, and taste the freshest version of Hellim, served with freshly baked çörek, in a beautiful traditional Turkish Cypriot village house in Zeytinlik.

The event included the experiencing Hellim making, and a walk around the picturesque village of Zeytinlik with an English-speaking tour guide. A traditional lunch followed the walk. See our facebook page for more photos

ATA 28th April Social Event is a dinner at The Grapevine which is a traditional Cypriot building in the centre of Girne.

For many years this was the hub of British expat social life and lawyers who lunch when owned and run by “Jimmy” Kutlay Keço veteran of the Erenköy resistance in the 1974 war. Now run by Tugce Kortan and popular with young Cypriots and expats of all nationalities.

We have negotiated a 3 course dinner at £23 for members and £25 for non members. Payment will be converted to Lira on the day and notified to those attending who wish to pay in local currency.

Walking Tour of Historical Kyrenia / Girne

Tuesday, 15th April 2025

We are pleased to offer you and your friends a walking tour of Girne/ Kyrenia conducted by Serhan Guneyli, our official tour guide.

THE TOUR WILL INCLUDE:

• The old town of Girne / Kyrenia and its historical remains.

• A guided tour of Kyrenia Castle.

• Tour of the Folk Art Museum.

MEETING POINT: The Ottoman Cemetery in the centre of Girne, near the car park.

MEETING TIME: 09.30 am

DURATION OF WALK: 3 to 4 hours

APPROX COST: Depending on the number of people, the cost will be 400tl for members and 450tl for non-members. This includes entrance fees into the Castle and the Museum.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please be aware that there are some steep steps up to the battlements in the castle, but this would not deter you from your enjoyment should you choose not to climb them. Also, the route down to the harbour can be a little tricky, but we will avoid the steep cobbles.

Also, please bring water with you as there will not be a planned refreshment break or an organised lunch.

Visit to Orthopaedic Association, talk about their activities and lunch

PS Don’t forget our Games day this Wednesday (5th) at Alley Kitcehn and Bar. We will be holding the next one at a venue more central to those in the West!

On 5th February we will be back at the Alley Kitchen and Bar, Catalkoy.

On offer will be:

Mexican Train Game, and
Bridge – a representative from the Islands Bridge Club will be offering help to those who wish to learn bridge. Take the leap and give it a try!

Both will be great fun! Come along and join us.

We will be renewing memberships and taking on new members etc as usual.
