Members of the Anglo Turkish Association of Northern Cyprus (ATA) took to the roads in the latest electric cars to come off the Gunsel production line at the Near East University during their visit to the Gunsel factory and car museum recently.
Following an informative presentation about the Gunsel electric car and Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel’s dream that one day in the future he would establish an automobile company and watch couples ride around in his open-top cars. ATA members were given the keys to some of Gunsel’s most expensive cars so that they could experience the thrills of driving an all-electric car.
‘Unbelievably brilliant, l want one’ said Ahea Hannan, whilst speed freak Shane Barnes declared ‘the acceleration was just like that of a jet plane only quieter’.
Following the enjoyment of driving Gunsel cars, ATA members spent time in the university’s acclaimed car museum marvelling at the vast array of vehicles from the earliest days of motoring right up to the £180,000 super cars of today. After which they dined at the Gusto restaurant, before heading home in the more conventional form of transport – the good old coach.
